for the huge basket of groceries to
be given away. These groceries
were donated to the girls by citizens
of the community.
Saturday found the girls busier
than ever. They were fixing the
auditorium. Some were making
flowers that looked so real you
could scarcely tell that they were
artificial. Some were making cakes
and sandwiches. The lovely little
aprons they had on sale were ador
able.
By night everyone was tired,
but each girl was at her appointed
place at opening time. The little
fellows had so much fun and
enjoyed fishing for those cute lit
tle prizes.
Then there was bingo, pi tching
pennies and the cake walk. Th. ;
girls (or their mothers) had done a
swell job on the cakes, and they
were beautiful.
After all this, it was timeto give
away the grocery basket. Mr. Gates
asked Mr. Garland Byrd to draw
the number. Miss Issie Lee Jthhell
of Butler was holding the lucky
ticket. All in all the Festival was a
grand success.
