Bible School Planned
Mrs. A. L. Sheppard offWaynes-
boro is spending a few days with
Mrs. Sara Cross.
Mrs. Lillie Theus and Kay of La-
Grange, spent the week end with
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Locke.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hobbs of Vero
Beach, Fla., are spending several
days in Butler with friends.
Mrs. L. E. Brown of Augusta,
spent the week end with her
mother, Mrs. P. B. Childs.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mimbs of
Milledgeville, spent the week end
with their mother, Mrs. Jack Gill.
E. Banks Shehee left for Birming
ham, Ala., Tuesday to accompany
his son, Chris, to Butler for a few
week’s visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Phife of Or
lando, Fla., arrived today (Thurs
day) to spend the week end with
Mrs. E. B. Shehee.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil W. Cox and
Miss Lorena Fielder of Junction
City were dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. H. E. Childres Sunday.
Mr. Ernest Davis was re-enlisted i
a few days ago as a patient at the j
Macon hospital. His many friends |
wish for him a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. U. S. Underwood,
Douglas and Stephen Taunton spent
the week end in Macon the guests
of Dr. and Mrs. John P. Jones and
sons.
Mrs. Wilba Deen Tante visited
Mrs. Lorena Justus at the Ga. Bap
tist Hospital, Atlanta, Thursday.
Mrs. Tante reports Mrs. Justus’
condition is much improved.
Janey. and Toni Morgan of
Bonaire, Ga., arrived here Saturday
to spend two weeks with their
grandmother and aunt, Mrs. Elma
Swain and Miss Mildred Gay.
Maj. and Mrs. Richard Turk and
daughter, Anne, left Wednesday
for Washington, D. C., for a visit
with their mother, Mrs. Skelton.
The Turk family will leave the 17th
for Liberia.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Fountain and
Jackie and Mrs. Kate Jarrell at
tended graduation of Miss Kay Jar
rell at the Medical College, Augus
ta, Sunday. They also saw Mr.
Tommy Theus of this city, received
the M. D. degree at the Medical in
stitution.
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Kennon and Mrs. Horac e
Watson included Mrs. Hoke Wind
ham, Mr. Jack Driskell, Mr. J. C.
Driskell and Mrs. Oatis Rowe and
children; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell
Windham and children of Macon,
visited them during the afternoon.
Also Mr. and Mrs. John W. Chap
man, Mrs. Willie Windham and
Miss Annie Laura Windham of
Thomaston.

Bible School begins at the local
Methodist church, Monday. Hours
of the School will be 5 to 7 p. m.

Local Library Opens
Two Days Each Week
The Butler Library will be opened
from 3 to 5 p. m. on Tuesdays
and Thursday afternoons for eight
weeks after school closed for the
summer vacation. Viz: June 5th
