I hereby announce my candidacy
for re election to the offfice of
Representative in the General
Assembly from Taylor County
subject to the rules and regulations
of the Democratic Executive Com
mute in the Primary of Sept. 12,
1962.
It has been my privilege to serve
you in the 1961-62 General Assem
bly and with this experience I feel
that I am now better qualified to
serve you in 1963-64. I now and will
always have the best interest of
Taylor County at heart.
If honored with re-election to this
office I pledge to be of service to
the people of my county at all
times.
During the next few weeks I will
strive to see as many of you as pos
sible in behalf of my campaign but
if for any reason I fail to contact
you personally, please consider this
announcement as a personal letter
to you asking for your vote and sup
port In this race.

I am twenty-five years of age
and a graduate of Emory University
with a degree in Business Ad
ministration. On June 4, 1962, I
received a degree in law from
the Walter F. George School of Law
Mercer University. I am a practicing
attorney and a member of the
Georgia Bar.
It is because of a keen desire to
be of service to the people of my
county that I seek this position. If
elected to this office I pledge to de
vote my time and efforts for the
betterment of Taylor County and
the State of Georgia.

mitted to the qualified voters there- J

tion of whether or not bonds in the
aggregate principal amount of $60,-
000.00 shall be issued by Taylor i
County School District for the pur
pose of providing funds to acquire,!
construct and equip a gymnasium
for Eureka School in Taylor County
School System, and to pay expenses
incident to accomplishing the fore
going; said bonds, if so authorized,
to be dated July 1, 1962, to be in
the denomination of $1,000 each,
numbered consecutively from 1 up
ward to 60, inclusive, in order of a
maturity, to bear interest from date
at the rate of four per centum (4%)
per annum, payable semiannually
on the first days of January and
July in each year and the principal
to mature on the 1st day of January
lowest numbers first, in the years
and amounts, as follows:
$2,000 in each of the years 1964
to 1975, inclusive,
$3,000 in each of the years 1976
and 1977,
$5,000 in each of the years 1978
to 1983, inclusive.
The principal of and interest on
said bonds shall be payable in law
ful money of the United States of
America at a bank or banks to be
designated later.
Those desiring to vote for said
School Bonds for the aforesaid pur
pose shall do so by casting their
ballots having written or printed
thereon the words: “FOR $60,000
TAYLOR COUNTY SCHOOL DIS
TRICT BONDS”, and those desiring
to vote against the said School
Bonds for the aforesaid purpose
shall do so by casting their ballots
having written or printed thereon
the words: “AGAINST $60,000 TAY
LOR COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
BONDS.”
The several places for holding
said election shall be at the regular
and established voting precincts of
Taylor County, State of Georgia,
'and the polls will be opened at 7:00
o’clock A. M. and closed at 7:00
O’clock P. M., Eastern Standard

federal prisoners as much as $100

The maximum gratuity that now
