Atlnnta, Ga. — Here’s some good
advice for Georgia’s parents regard
ing junior and a motor scooter:
It’s against the Georgia law to
drive a motor scooter, motor bike
or any other motorized vehicle of
that type without a driver’s license
—and you can’t get a license to
drive it unless you are 16 years old
or older.
That reminder comes straight
from Col. H. Lowell Conner, director
of the Ga. Dept, of Public Safety,
who said some Georgia parents ap
parently are unaware of this situ
ation.
“We receive numerous calls
from parents in regard to this” he
said. “Many of them already have
bought these vehicles for their chil
dren and want to know how they
can go about getting a license. They
can’t.
“They can’t even get a learner’s
driver license. That’s because a 15
year old boy with a learner’s li
cense must at all times have a li
censed driver who is over 21 years
old riding alongside of him. You
-an’t meet these requirements in a
motor scooter.
“We have some parents ask us if
it wouldn’t be all right for their
child to drive without a license sc
long as he stayed in the yeard, oi
iriveway or close to 'home. The an
swer is “no.” It not only would be
Against tho law but it would en
