have awakened our keenest sensibil
ities of ihreatniug danger; and yet,
thanks to Him who holds the winds
in His fist, wrt hive like the Psalmist

and protection in the past, would
give us confidence to trust him in
the future.

gentleman. In his death, the com
munity in which he lived ha# lost a

cotton planting had begun in earnest
