HAMILTON, HARRIS COUNTY, GEORGIA, FEBRUARY 20, 1880.
Address to the Sunday Si Loots of
Georgai.
At the last scission of the Georgia
State Sunday School .Association
he'd in Macon, it was sygjjoHled lA
a prominent gentleman that,ft con
tain day in the year bo appointed to
bo observed by the Sunday Schools
of ihe Stale, to bo called the “C'L'l
dren’s Day.’’ The suggestion was*
adopted, and it was referred to tho
Exeoutivo ComtniUee to appoint
the day and devise the plan of ilh
observance. Wo have appointed
May 1-t. Wo have thought that
the most appropriate and usotul
Observance ot the day would bo to
hold everywhere in ilia State mam
moth Sunday School celebrations.
Such gatherings will servo to im
press the public mind with the
magnitude of the movement in
Georgia, and they will sorve also
to inspire a fresh Sunday School
workers.
We address you to justify you ol
these facts and to request yen to
co-operate in workingoutlhisgreat
idea. Where county associations
exist, it scorns to us best all the
schools in the county should joip
together at some convenient place,
in many counties that are not yet
organized into associations, this
might be well, and the grand gath
ering would furnish a splendid oc
casion to organize the county. Each
county and school, however, will
know best as to how and where it
should celebrate the day; only let
the spirit of Christian unity and
brotherly love orcvail. In any case,
let every school tall in ranks that
and y with the grand Sunday School
armv, which will stretch from the
mountains to the seaboard!
vVe will rejoice in God, ®tid in
TTis name we will set up our ban
ners; tor “He lias givc-n a banner to
them that fear Him, that it may be
displayed became of the truth ”
J. C/Cournwi.'

When Mr. Tennyson sjta down to
write —which he usually does for five
hours a day- -he gives strict orders
that, he shall not be disturbed.
There have been callers who through
some blunder of servants, have got
in bis library while lie was Writing
and there denounced by him for
their intrusion as if they had been
his worst, enemies. Any interrip
don while he is at work is said to
make lnm wild; ho raves like mad,
and, figuratively, foams at the
mouth. In his work he is delibera,
non personified, spending hours
sometimes on a single line.

bounded upward and again struck
the ground nt Mr. A. P. Bulk’s, a
