The introductory sermon was preached
by Elder G. T. Wilburn, and was replett
with gospel truth. Elder Geo. F. Cooper
was elected Moderator and J. H. Cawood
Clerk. •
The several pulpita wero filled on Sab
bath morning by Elders B. P. Tharp,
rhomos Muse, M. B. L. Binion and W.
F. Duncan. In the afternoon by Elders
J. H. Corley and H. C. Homaday.
At night Elders T. E. Langley and J.
B. Dearborn preached to large and atten
tive audiences. The churches were gen
erally represented, the attendance large,
and the letters showed them, in the main,
to be in a prosperous condition.
Tho Friendship Association is engaged
in the support of Elder H. F. Buck
ner, as a Missionary to the Indians,
whose reports from the fields of his ope
rations were of a decidedly encouraging
character. Elder Buckner is a veteran
missionary work, having devoted most ol
his ministerial life to preaching amongst
tho red men of the West.
The meeting of the Association was
characterized by the singleness of pur
pose which seems to possess the minds of
the members: to extend the Redeemer*!
Kingdom and to ameliorate the condition
of the world. The claims of Mercer Uni
versity were represented by Elder B. R
Tharp, who anoceeded il i rating Well*,
hundred dollars towards increasing its
endowment.
Elder H. C. Homaday urged the claims
of the Christian Index and the South
Western Baptist, with gratifying success.
Elder J. S. Baker advocated the claims
of the American Bible Union, but as he
did not attempt any collection, the effect
of his address could not l>e ascertained.
The hospitality of the community to
visitors was cheerful in spirit and prince
ly in bonntifulness.

The oo^ remedy for Chille and Fever, or
Ague and Fever, that is or can be depended up
on w Harley’s Ague Tonic. There hive been
thousands cured by using ifcwbo have tried the
ufiuI remedies without benefit.
To Dr. Tboe. A. Htuiey: I hereby certify that
during the last year I was attacked with the
agoo while in Vicksburg, Miss., and used sever
al popular patent medicine* with bat temporary
relief. On reaching borne the disease returned
in a worse type, if poesible. when my medical
attendant ordered quinine, in large doses, fre
quently os high ss 00 grains per day, and which
‘ havei cost mo nearly 1100. I consulted Dr.
, of Louisville, aud found he prescribed
quinine and arsenio, combined, which Intoned
to take, preferring to let tho discseo take its
course. I was abuoefc bloodless, extremely ex
hausted, and pronounced with enlarged liver
and spleen. About this time the adTertisemenf
have no reason to regret it. Ono botUo restored
mo completely, snd ateee that time I hart seen
nearly a hundred cases in which it acted with
equally happy result*, aud would certainly re
commend it as prcferrable to auy other tonic be
fore tbo public. James Maxicc, Engineer,
