Sunday until Wednesday in Blakely,
guests of Mrs. D. W. James.
Mrs. M'uray Brunson and little
son, Edgar, are visiting in Reynolds
this week, Mr. Brunson carrying them
over Sunday, returning Monday.
Messrs. B. VT Lee and R. P.
Evans are spending a week or so
down at Blountstown, Fla., with Mrs.
Evans, who is Mrs. Lee’s mother.
The News household is indebted to
Mr. J. B. Grimsley for a basket of
fine tomatoes. Joe has made quite
a success with tomatoes this season.
Mr. W. J. Barton treated the News
force to a nice basket of peaches
one day this week, a sample of a
shipment he received from a friend.
Miss Ethel Crockett and Mr. N. G.
McClung, of Headland, Ala., stood
before Ordinary C. C. Lane at the
bewitching hour of 12:10 Sunday
morning and were married.
Miss Dorothy Alexander left last
week for Savannah. She sailed from
there to New York, where she will
spend some time studying at Colum
bia University.

Seneca tonight and Friday. It’s one
of the greatest human stories ever
filmed.
Mr. C. H. Purifoy is down from
North Carolina on a visit to his
mother and sister at Blcffton and
his sister, Mrs. R. M. Hobbs, at
Blakely.

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ivey and
daughter have returned to Florida,
after a visit of some duration to
Mrs. J. W. Lane, in Blakely, and
other Early county relatives.
Mrs. E. F. Atkinson, of Jackson
ville, Fla., is in the city on a visit
to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B.
Buchannon. Mr. Buchannon went
down after her, accompanied by his
little son, Henry.
MRS. A. K. CHAPMAN, of Laur
el, Miss., will give a course in Nerve
Exercise, consisting of five lessons,
in Blakely next week, both individ
ual and class instruction. If you
are interested, see her.

father of Mr. Henry Walton, and
Mrs. Sherman, mother of Mr. Clark
Sherman, spent Sunday in the city.

spent the past week in Blakely as

in North Georgia, and that ain't
saying a great deal, is it?
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Menge, of
' Fort Pierce, Fla., celebrated the
Glorious Fourth by welcoming the
arrival of a new baby daughter
from Storkland. This is the news
Mrs. H. E. Hammack, grandmother
of the little lady, sends in from the
Land of Flowers to the home folks.
The 4th of July party who spent
the day at Sheffield’s mill have a
joke on Uncle Maley Willis. One of
the boys who had been fishing with
rod and reel left his minnow hanging
on the side of the Ford car. Maley
sat down on the running hoard at
the noon hour to drink a cup of cos
. fee. When he attempted to get up
he found he was caught on the hooks
and couldn’t make it. The young
folks kidded him by telling him that
he had eaten so many fish that they
were striking at the boh through his
shirt.
