SPARROW STOPS
SANDERSVILLE CLOCK
Sandersville, Ga.—Time stood still
here at 11:00 p. m. the other night.
And all because of a sparrow.
The tiny bird built a nest right
smack in the way of the hour hand
of the big court-house clock, and
stopped the mechanism. Indignant
custodian, R. A. Willoughby, re
moved the nest. The next night the
huge time-piece stopped again at 11.
Two- screws had fallen out of the
hour hands and jammed the works.
Everyone is invited to attend a
sing at Mt. Ararat church every
second Sunday afterhoon at four
o'clock. The public is also invited
to an Easter egg hunt Sunday, April
5, at 3:00 p. m.

PLOW POINTS
New plows are sometimes covered
with varnish or paint to protect
Shiny metal parts, and Extension
specialists say that the plow will
scour better if this is removed. A
can of concentrated lye dissolved in
several quarts of water wjll soften
the coating of paint or varnish so
that it may be scraped off with a
putty knife.
