Tlio editor of a notorious incendiary
fdiect, published in this city, says the Ma
con Messenger, was arrested yesterday on
a warrant issued hy Judge Cole, ift is
the defendant in a'pending libel suit, and
his securities having giving him, up, lio
was taken in custody. After a few hours
confinement in the guardhouse ho was re
leased. two white men and a negro, going
security for hint nnd taking the places of
his former.securities. There was no ex
citement, either among whites or blacks,
on .account of tho affair. He seems to he
