WHAT IS CATARRH?
PENSIONS SWALLOW MONEY
re ' Juat $144,712,787 Paid Out During
the Fiscal Year.
Washington, August 24.—The
annual report of Pension Com
mission Ware, covering the fiscal
year ended June 30, 1904, was
made public today by the acting
secretary of the interior. The
report shows that during the year
the cost of maintaining the pen
sion system of the goverment has
been $144,712,787. The appro
priation for this purpose was
$146,419,296, leaving an unex
pended balance of $1,706,708.
During the year 47,374 persons
were added to the pension rolls—
326 by special act of congress,
and the balance by the pension
bureau. During the same period
49,157 pensioners were dropped
from the rolls. Of these, death
claimed 43,820, of whom 31,728
were soldiers, 30,071 being volun
teers of the civil war. The total
number of pensioners on the rolls
as covered by the report is 720,-
315 soldiers, 273,841 widows and
dependents, and 606 army nurses.
The report refers to the order
issued by the commissioner March
16, last, in which age is made an
evidence of disability, and says
that three and one half months of
its operation only 8 per cent., or
28,806 out of the 275,000 pen-,
sioners, 'have asked for increase
under its terms. The report says
the order introduces no new prin
ciple, and “is in the direct line of
economy, as it certainty is in the
line of-precedent.” Less than 6
per cent, of the appropriation of
,500,000 was used to pay claim
ants under the order, the balance
being turned hack into the treas
ury.

Ony Way To Cure Catarrh Is By
Breathng Hyme.
Ask any physician if catarrh is
a blood disease and he will tell
you that it is a diseased condition
of the mucous membrane and that
it cannot be cured by blood puri
fiers, pills, tablets, or other forms
of stomach dosing. The only sen
sible and scientific way of curing
catarrh is by the use of Hyomei.
Breathed for a few minutes,
four or five times a day, through
a hard rubber inhaler that is so
small that it can be carried in the
vest pocket, Hyomei will absolute
ly destroy all catarrhal germs and
cure the disease. Catairh can
never exist where Hyomei is used.
It has a two-fold action, destroy
ing the disease germs in the air
pasaages aud lungs, and soothing
and healing the inflamed mucous
membrane.
Hightower Drug Co., one of the
most reliable firms in Dalton, are
giving their personal guarantee
with every package of Hyomei
they sell, that it will effect a cure
or they will return the money
They have had scores of reports
of remarkable cures of both acute
and chronic cases of catarrh by
Hyomei.
The complete Hyomei outfit
costs $1.00 aud comprises an in
haler, a bottle of Hyomei and
dropper. The inhaler will last
lifetime; and additional bottles of
Hyomei can he obtained for 50c

DRIFTING
TOWARDS
BRIGHT’S
Many people who are neglecting symptoms of kidney trouble, hoping
drifting towards Bright’s Disease, which is kidney trouble in one
FOLEYSKXDNEYCURE
stops irregularities, strengthens the urinary organs and builds up the worn-out tissues
of the kidneys so they will perform their functions properly. Healthy kidneys strain out
the impurities from the blood as it passes through them. Diseased kidneys do not, and
the poisonous waste matter is carried by the circulation to every part of the body,
causing dizziness, backache, stomach trouble, sluggish liver, irregular heart action, ety.
If you have any signs of Kidney or Bladder Trouble commence taking FOLEY S
KIDNEY CURE at once, as it will cure a slight disorder in a few days and prevent a
fatal malady. It is pleasant to take and bentefits the whole system.
How to Find Out.
You can easily determine if your kidneys are
out of order by setting aside for 24 hours a
bottle of the urine passed upon arising. If
upon examination it is cloudy or milky or has
a brick-dust sediment or small particles float
about in it, your kidneys are diseased, and
FOLEY’S KIDNEY CURE should be taken
at once.
G. B. Burhans Testifies After Four Years.
G. B. Burhans of Carlisle Center, N. Y., writes:
‘‘About four years ago I wrote you stating that I had been entirely
cured of a severe kidney trouble by taking lesa than two bottlea of
Foley’s Kidney Cure. It entirely stopped the brick-dust sediment and
pain and symptoms of kidney disease disappeared. I am glad to say that
I have never had a return of any of those symptoms during the four
years that have elapsed, and I am evidently cured to stay cured and
heartily recommend Foley’s Kidney Cure to any one suffering from
kidney or bladder trouble."
