Rev. Joe Padget, of New' Hope, per

guests were ushered to the dining room
where a sumptuous feast was enjoyed.
The bride is one of Warings most

friends are sorry that her marriage

Christmas has come and gone. Some
have had a merry Christmas and some
have not—We look back a few years,
and our old gray-headed parents were
yet with us. What a pleasure it was
to us to make -them happy! But that
time is past and forever gone. We
can . but try to follow the examples
that were left by them and set. the
same kind of example for our children
to follow, and to teach others that
Christ was bom-to save the lost.
We are having some cool weather
for Christmas.

REV. TALMAGE ON
SAVINGS ACCOUNTS
“I cannot imagine any more unfair or meaner
thing than for a man to get his sins pardoned at the
last minute, and then go to heaven and live in a man
sion, and go riding about in a golden chariot over the
golden streets while his wife and children, whom he
might have provided for, are begging cold victuals
at the basement door of an earthly city. It seems
to me that there ought to be a poorhouse somewhere
on the outskirts of heaven where those guilty of such
improvidence should be kept for a while on soup and
gristle, instead of sitting down at the King’s ban
quet. It is said that the church is a divine institu
tion, and I believe it, just as certainly are the savings
banks divine institutions.”
