According to the calculation of astronomers

no “side shows,” but the whole of it can be
seen under one grand pavilion, to which every

yes the stars that “twinkle way up above the

one side of the henvens to the other like hot
shot out of a cannon, presenting one of the
grandest, sights tho eyes ever beheld. Now
we ask all of our readers to come out and risk
one eye on the show. Do not be frightend,
for there is no danger of being harmed, unless
this "falling of stars” knocks the world from
its axis—if that happens we would not give the
wrappings of our finger for your chance. We
do not know that thc "powers that be” have
taken any steps to notify the public at what

The Crops-
The Covington Enterprise says ;
We have the cheering intelligence from the
lips of every farmer we meet, “my crop is the
best for many years.” The wheat crop in this
county was very good, and is all housed, and
mostly threshed—the yield fine. The larger
portion of tho corn may now be considered
safe, and the yield will be immense. Cotton
is looking well, and with propitious seasons,
thc amount raised will appioximate that of
ante helium times.
