Au Evening at the County Site-
Op last Saturday we suspended op
erations in our ofiice, and made a visit
to Fairburn. We spent a pleasant
evening, with our friends and had
the pleasure of Witnessing a very in
teresting game of Base Ball. The club
at Fairburn is flutiiisUing and with a
tittle more practice, they can cope with
any in the state.
While walking around Fairburn we
noticed that the town is still improving
We accepted an invitati >n to take
supper with our old friend S. G. John*
son, and while at his residence, we
were shown a lot of the neatest and
most tasty selected millinery goods
we have seen this season, Mrs. John
son informed us that the sale of her
goods is so rapid that in order to keep
an assortment on hand it is necessary
to get anew supply every two or three
days. She has Miss Oallie King con
nected with her, and the two together
know how to please the ladies.

Kingston, Ga., April 4, 1873.
Mr. R. C ummings, Palmetto, Ga —•
Dear Sir: Mr. Joseph Smith of this
county, an old gentleman in the 73d
year of his age, has been for nearly 3
years afflicted with a sore leg, and
having tried the skill of the best phy
sicians of Barlow, *Fioyd ai.d Gordon
counties, and all failing, Dr. Lunt, of
Calhoun, told him it would have to be
amputated —that nothing else would
do. About that time, P. A. Lawcon,
a relative of mine, was in our town,
and gave Mr. Smith a small vial of
your medicine; and the old man found
so much relief from it, that I wrote to
Mr. Lawson, requesting to procure
some more of the medicine for him, —
Outlie 27th of Februrry bo brought
Mr. Smith a small bottle of the medi
ci a\ which the old man has used, and
his leg is, to all appearances, entirely
well. When lie commenced the use of
the medicine, his leg was pei fectly ra w
from his knee to midway his foot, ex
uding a yellow matter which was al
most as sticky as turpentine, emitting
a very unpleasant smell. Now the
skin is all smooth ami healthy —no
swelling about it. T here lire - everal
similar cases in this County, and if you
want an agent to sell your medicine in
this county, I will ake the agency foi
you. You can refer to Mr. P. A. Law
son as to my standing and integrity.
Yuuis icspectfully,
Henry A. Clemmons.
