Tampico to the Cth,'inst, had.been re-
cievod. A great battle had been fought
near San Louis Potosi; about 4000 men
on each side. The reactionists were
completely routed with a loss of eigh
teen cannon and one thousand priso
ners, all baggage and ammunition train
were lost. The Liberos entered'. Snn
Louis amidst the rejoicing of the peo
ple. _ _

Mobile, May 15.—A large democratic
meeting was held here last night which
denounced the secession aud passed
resolutions that the State be represented
in the Baltimore Convention. Also
appointing delegates to a State Djenio-
cratic Convention to be held at Selma
on the4th June. •
