Speedy Hetruiction.—Tlie Jefferson
(Texas) Herald tells the fate that befel
the villians who fired tho town of Hen
derson, on the5th instant. Three per
sons left Henderson immediately after
the conflagration, under very suspicious
circumstances. They wero followed by
a committee of citizens. Perceiving
themselves pursued, they turned to
fight, when one of them was shot dead
from his horse, and tho other two were
taken and hung forthwith;
Singular Effect of a Prohibition.
A most extraordinary case is now try
ing beforeoneof the French courts. An
