Wc spent a day (the Sabbath) in this delight
ful garden and we could have spent a week iu
rambling over its hills by fountains and roman
tic walks, looking at the vast collections of liv
ing animals, birds, reptiles, insects: from the

i eved gazelle, to tho reindeer, elk nnd Americun

birds delighted us no lass than the writ melody

! scale, and contain the rarest collection of bulbs
| and flowers. Whether you stroll through the

On the Hahiwth the grounds are crowdud with j
the people of Paris and strangers from every I
country on earth. It is a capital place to study j

AH kinds oi flowers, vegetables and plants are
cultivated in the Garden. We saw Indian corn, !
like we grow in Georgia, hut it was dwarf and |
inferior. Bananas, oranges, peaches, tipples, j
pears, grapes, iu tact every lruit, flower and '
bulb known utmost in tlie world, may be seen in
tlie grand collections of the Gudeu des Plantes.
Similar to this iu many respects, is the Jardtn
d'Accliiuation, iu Buis de Boulogne, which the
tourist will find a most charming spot to visit.
This garden wrs established at great cost by the
municipality of Paris, and wa* intended to ac
climatize ull plants, flowers, birds, auimuls, fish,
Ac. You must enjoy ain light till drive through
the Bois (wood) de Boulogne, which answers to
Paris what Central Park is to Now York,to reach
this lovely park. The extent of the grounds is
not so great as the garden of plants; nor do wc
think (he coHcctious so largo; but it is equally
attractive, if not more interesting in several of
its departments. The nq rarimn, fur instance, is
a perfect wonder, while the rare specimens of
animals, create the utmost delight. There are
two huge houses, heated by steam pipes to pre
serve a certain temperature, foil of every species
ol living monkey, every color, taco uud tribe, I
that ia worth a visit, alone, to Mee. Tlie whole
worid is certainly represented in these two
houses, aud all conditions of monkey life, front
king to tlie plebiau, may be studied i. re. We
counted nearly IttU,and stopped perfectly delight

sorry Harris, Grady, Devotio and the balance ot ,
the Georgia Press were not whit us. yesterday to
