These words are placarded on the door of
-IG8 Sixth Avenue. The building commences
with a store, grows upward into residences,
and is all newness and brown stone. The
sign quoted is on the door leading to the res
idences. The writer read it and entered. A
carpeted stairway and hail brought him to
another door upon which the inscription is
repeated. A rap brought out a lady. She
was under thirty years old, above the average
in personal attractiveness, and well dressed.
She was a little surprised at a mile caller. A
slight lilting of the brows over her very large

sumed a business smile.

ral, and couldn't fill it. You see I hadn’t
anticipated any demand in that line, but I
