Mrs. Riley Elgen left Tuesday
for New York City, where she
will join her mother, Mrs. Don
aldson, who has been there some
time visiting relatives. After a’
visit of three weeks, Mrs. Elgen
and her mother will leave New
York for Balimore, where they
will visit friends far a week or
more. They are expected home
about October 1.

Mrs. J. T. Hendricks and Mrs.
Otis Howell entertained a num
ber of guests at Mrs. Hendricks’
beautiful country:3mme ot Satur
day from 4 to 8 p. m. in a very
unique and artistic manner, the
occasion being in honor of Miss
Zadießritt’s fourteenth birthday.
A number of enjoyable games
were played, one being an auto
mobile contest, in which Miss
Bobbie Dykes won the prize, a
pretty fan, and another interest-|
ing game Heart Dice, in which
Miss Lizzie Butler was the happy
winner of a dainty handkerchief.
Refreshments were served in:
courses throughout the evening,
the first course being sandwiches:
and tea. Later in the evening the
guests were served with ambrosia
and cake in hand-made orange
baskets. The color scheme was
yellow, red and green, and the
tables, “decorations, ete., nicely
arranged, which portrayed much
iskill and taste by the hostess’.
