Planned to Dissolve
Insurance Company
Augusta, Ga , Dec. 4. —lf Dep
uty United States Marshai J. P.
Murray had Leen a little late in
gerving a. restraining order on
the stockholders of the Atlantic
States Life Insurance Company
yesterday, it is probable that the
entire company would have been
dissolved. A meeting of the
stockholders was called for 12
o’clock, when the proposition was
made to liquidate and to divide
what was left of the money
among the stockholders, but a
short time before the hour the
president of the company was
served with a copy of theirjunc
tion granted by Judge Speer.
G. S. Kimball, who is suing the
company for $127,500, secured
the temporary injunction, and
next Monday in Macon the com
pany will be required to show
cause why the injunction should
not be made permament. The
injunction prevents any disposal
of the assets until the Kimball
case is settled.
The failure of the Citizens
Trust Company several monthsi
ago caused the ruin of the Atlan
tic States Life. 1
