tan Life Inturance Company will
be appointed by Judge Bell, of
the superior court according to his
announcement this afternoor, and
steps are being taken for a reor
ganization of the company under
an agreement which will permit 1t
to continue in business. 1
Attorneys for the company ar
nounced today that they had
reached an agreement with Comp
troller General Wright whereby
the companv would be permitted
by him to continue operations, pro
vided it comply with such restric
tions specified by him under the
recently passed insurance laws,

out case of Dan G. Sudderth and
others against the Cosmopolitan
company were concluded today. It
had been expected that Judge Bell
would reserve his decision as to the
receivership asked by Sudderth
until the close of the state’s more
recent suit against the company,
But when the attorneys for the
compary urged that they had been
in negotiations with the comptrol
ler general and might be permitted
to reorganize the company, and
that this could not be done were
there any further delay, the court
announced that no receivership
would be appointed.
It is understood that Attorney
General T.S. Felder and the in
surance commissioner will make
the following demands of the Cos
lmopolitan: First, that the resigna
tion of every officer of the company

be placed in the hands of the in
surance commissioner, glving him
the privilege of reorganizing the
company as he desires, retaining
and employing whom he sees fit.
Second, that the company must
pay the talance due on its capital
stock subscriptions, which was
authorized at $1,000,000 basiz, the
total of which has not been'paid
in. Third, that a substantial sur
plus must be created by the com.
pany.
Mrs. J. L. Ware came down
from LaGrange yesterday after
noon to join Mr. Ware who has
been here several days visitiflg
their sons, Drs. R, M. and D, B.
Waré. Mr, and Mrs. Ware have
visited in Fitzgerald on several
occasions and have many friends
in the city. _
~ “Baby Mine” Pleases
~ That screamingly fuuny, though
very broqd farce, ‘‘Baby Mine,”
entertained two audiences at the
Savannah Theatre vyesterday. It
was the second visit to this city of
the Margaret Mayo play.
There was no mistaking the fact
that both of yesterday’s audiences
were immensely pleased with the
three acts. The lines and situations
supply the laughter. People of‘
marked talent are not required in
the cast,—Savannah News.
