to those previou 4y reported. The follow,
wg is the official list of the ministers•
Minister of the Interior. Duke do Brog-

can be avoided, as Guttler can give no
Aeiursnoo that thu order will bo obeyed
in Cuba. ■Public feeling is also opposed
to coneoAsionA. Unless Caatelar responds
this evening, Gen. Sickles leaves imme
diately. All tho American ships in the
M.-Hterraneun have been ordered to Koy
West. In the event of Gen. Sickles leav
ing. the British minister will probably
pretjet the archives and the American
resident!. President Caatelar is person
ally anxious to accept thu British minis

but there is no hop* to-night.
The.Spanish Question-Renewed Corn
plications.
Washington, November27.—The State
Deportment has become entirely sil-nt
on the Spanish question. It is stated
that cipher dispatches from Madrid have
loom received upon which experts were
busy up to five o'clock this morning,
without having concluded their transla
tion.
It is stated to-night that one point of
the United States' demands has been set
tled by scuttling and sinking tho Vir
ginias in the harbor of Havana.
The general impression, which seems
well founded, exists of renewed complica
tions. The silence of the wires from
Madrid and Havana and reticence of the
functionaries hero indicate it.
Ornco to Spain.
It is stated on what is believed to be
good authority, that our government has
extended the timo for a definite reply
from Spain to the demands of our govern
ment. and it can be said coming from an
official source, that negotiation* are still
in progress. but nlfuirs are in such a con
dition that not even an intimation can be
given of their character.
There U reason for saying with certain
ty tluit the prospect is not so favomhle
for on adjustment of the Virginias diffi
culty as it was several day* ago. There
were grounds for bolieving the report that
the Spanish cabinet had agreed to sur
render the Virginiua. These were pre
dicted mninly on tho profession* of
amity and the expression of a willing
ness en tho part of the Castelar cabi
net to do everything compatible with
honor in natlsfnction of the wishes of
the United States, and also from
the friendly assurances of Admiral
Polo, the Spanish Minister, anil his ac
tion in the promise*. This Government,
yesterday and to-day, wns in receipt of
dispatches from Madrid of nn elaborate
character, giving tho result of the inter
view* between Minister Sickles nn<l the
Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs on
the point* in controversy. This corre
spondence is not yet coni-liided nor. from
present indication;, iv It proboblo tho
matter will noon bo terminated byTterfh-
tintion. although it is hoped there will
bo something definite before Congress on
tile lily tho President's message shall be
transmitted to that body.
As tho negotiation is still pending,
there can be no truth in the report freely
circulated to-day that Minister Sickle*
hud left. Madrid for Paris. And as to
the scuttling of tho Virginiua 114 the pert
of If ivnmt. another rumor which iso*- 1
tensively prevailing, it found few be
lievers. Inquiry at an official source to-
•night failed to confirm its truth.
The President this morning called nt
tho residence of Secretary Fish, with
whom he had a consultation on the pend
ing negotiation*.
