Dr. ROGER S
CELEBRATED
Vegetable Pulmonic Detergent
The use of this Medicine
is said to have been attended
with the happiest effe&s in
the Eastern and N. States,
and it probably requires on
ly to be used in the South
ern Rates to be attended
with equal success. In the
former it appears to have
been extensively used, and
if we were to form our judg
ment from the Certificates
that accompany it, few Me
dical Patentees would be
found tohave a higher claim
on the patronage of the pub
lic.
TO THE PUBLIC.
NO Man, perhaps, has a grea
ter aversion to egotism, or univer
sal remedies, than the subscriber ;
but facts are stubborn things, and
the fact is, that the Vegetable pul •
monic Detergent, ot which he is
the proprietor, is a Select reme,
dy tor affections of the lungs only,
and founded on the experience of
eighteen years indefatigable prac
tice, and all physicians have their
select remedies, but none ivill pre
tend that all remedies, are alike
efficacious. This Vegetable pre
paration, if taken according to
the directions accompanying the
medicine, to wit, to attend to other
evacuations when they are indica.
ted, such as freeing the circulation
by moderate blood letting, when
the pulse is hard, and the respi
ration difficult. Observe this, and
keep the habit of body free, as is
usual in health, and let the per.

respects, conduct Ike a prudent
rational creaiure, and this media,

CERTIFICATES.
New York Dec. 28, tßio.
I, George Huntei of this city,
Front street. No- lso, do certify
and declare, upon every thing
that is sacred, (and hundreds can
testify to the same} that for several
years past, I have been afflicted
with nn affection ofihe lungs, and
through (he colder seasons of every
year, had been exercised with a
severe St almost incessant cough,
& a discharge of Urge quantities ol
phleghm and mucus alternately
thrown oil ; but in the hot season
of every year, my cough has been
somewhat abated, until the last
past, which continued until the
month ol August, with unabated
seventy i at ituglh I bled profusely
from the lungs, and continued bo
to do for lour days, with inter.
Vais of abatement, until my life
Xjvus despairedot by two eminent
physicians of tins city. At length
1-wiis induced lb uy Ur. Rogers's
Vegetable Pulmonic Deteigcnt,
recommended for affection* ot the
lungs, anti' to this valuable) me

joy cue lit of a very unusual degree
ot bodily htafih, and i have con

thus paiKiuiai in writing, that the
pubhek may be induced to try the
efficacy ol so valuable a medicine
for compiaiuis tor which it is pre

1 am constrained however, to
relinquish these sentiments, a# it
respects I)r Roger’s Vegetable
Detergent, the eflectt of which I
have recently witnessed. A voung
lardy in my family, by using two
p per«, I have reason to believe,
is effectually cured of an alarm
ing pulmonic complaint which
in all its symptoms gave} evi
dence of immediate consumption.
I communicate this with a view
of usefulness, and siuccrelv hope
that such people as have complaints
similar to the above, will make
trial of the medicine.
GIDEON LEE.
New York Dec. 28, 1809.
This may certify, that I, Mar
garet Ryder, No 221, Water
street, aged 65 years, having in
the month of February last past
taken a violent cold, which ter.
initiated in a severe 3t distressing
cough, with an expectoration of
phleghm, with the* greatest diffi
culty raided. Thus I continued
without the least relief by ordi
nary mean* ; but hearing of Dr
Roger’s Vegetable Pulmonic De„
tergent I was induced to try it, {
was immediately relieved, and in
the course of ten da) s completely
cured. lam therefore conscienti
ously induced to recommend it to
the use of the publick in this pub
lick manner, and shall ever me
my private influence, among my
acquaintance, to promote the sale
of so valuable a medicine, and
thereby augment the happiness
of tny fellow creatures.
MARGARET RYDER.
Philadelphia Jan. 12, 1810.
The moral obligation which e
very person is under to contrL
bole relief to the human family,
if in tl.cir power, constrains me to
make the following communica
tion. While on a visit to Balti
more, in spring season 1809, I
was unfortunately seized with
a most violent cold. I was languid,
breathed with the utmost diffi-s
cully, extremely hoarse and fe
verish with a disposition to cough,
but could raise nothing.
In this situation I was induced
to try L)r Roger’s Vegetable Pul
monic Detergent, for affections
of the lungs ; and to mv joy l was
soon relieved of my fever and
distressed feelings, and iu a few
days all symptoms of indisposition
subsided. lam therefore sincere
ly of opinion, from this and many
other circumstances, that it is a
safe and clficatious remedy for
affections of the lungs, and aui
pleased thus to recommend it :
Rachel M. Montgomery.
TO THE PUBLIC.
This may certify, that my wife
Sarah Sandeison, having been af
flitted with au affection of the
lungs for many years, in a greater
or less degree, at particular periods
being more distressed th in at o
thers, with an incessant dry cough
and difficulty of breathing, ap
peared like a peculiar kind of asth
ma, which no medicine appered
ever to move, until hearing ol
Dr Roger’s Vegetable Pulmonic
Deter gam, which from the cele
brity it appeared to have, 1 wrote
to the Doctor to send me a cake,
winch he did ; and from the u»e
of'it, the complaint appears to bt
; totally removed; my wife having
no symptoms of the complaint for
6 months past. I therefore am full
tn the belief that it is a very va.
luable medicine, and can wfih sin
cerity recommend it to the use
of the public.
