Prof. Johnson is a popular teacher and distin
guished composer of music. For six years pi evi
ous to his connection with this Institution, he had
charge of this department iu a flourishing female
college. His superior excellence as a vocalist,
energy and tact in teaching, tit him especially for
his position.
