TO THE WJBOC.
T IE Faculty of Franklin Co*lege would re*peetftjI|J
notify the parents and Guardians of tl:e Students,
that the conflagration of the new building however kcri-
ous, will not interfere in the smalksi degree with tbe
regular duties of the College. The course of iostruo
tion will not be affected, as every accommodation >’ iU be
ready for tbe atudents by tbe 1st January. The Library
has it is true been destroyed; but we feel confident front
tbe munificence of tbe Legislature, that the loss will be
so far repaired, by the opening of the next term, as to
prevent any injury arising from its destruction. The
Mathematical instrument* can be easily replaced. The
fine Philosophical Apparatus and Chemical instruments
are uninjured, end consequently full instruction in tbe
higher classes can be given.
As to the personal accommodation of the young men,
no difficulty will exist, as the old building hitherto de
voted to tbe residence of the two lower classes, is unin
jured, add will consequently contain all’ who now com
pose those classes, or who may come by the commence
ment of the next term. The upper classes will be ac-
coromodatcd, with lodging apd study rooms n» private
families or the boarding houses in town, and that without
additional charge until the College building shall bo repair-
cd. . •
The Faculty therefore trust, and with full confidence,
that the credit of the Institution with tbe Public, will
net be impaired, and that the patronage of its friends
will not bp .diminished. .The Faculty therefore confide in
(he return Of «H tiie. students by the first of Januarj
next, to Resume their regular duties.
By order of the Fueulty.
