will offer for sale, by auction, at Newport. Florida,
a large quantity of land, the property of the Apalachi
cola Land Company. It lies on each side of the rail road
leading to the port of St. Marks, in a region adapted to
the production of cotton, sugar-cane, fine tobacco, na
val stores.&c., and it is very near a coast abounding in
various kinds of fish.
The terms of sale will be one third cash, one third in
one year, mid one third in two years from day of sale,
with interest on notes secured by liens on the land.

n;v Negro man JACK, about 3(1 years old, feet 6 or 8
inches high, has a scar on the inside of right or left arm,
d<* not recollect which, 3 or 4 inches above his thumb,
made by the cut of a knife. Ho wore some goatees
when he left. lie is a good hand with a Broad Axe, and
is very handy at any kind of work. I am of the opinion
he has left my neighborhood, and possibly some one has
given him a pass; if so, he mav be at work not far dis
tant. 1 will give the above reward to any person that
will lodge him in some Jail, and secure his pass if lie 1ms

On the 9th instant, a negro man who says his
name is D INN IS, about 5 feet 10 or 11 inches
high, weighs about 105or 175 pounds, dark complexion,
has a scar on his forehead above the left eye which lie
says was done by the kick of a horse; also a scar on his
left cheek and afire mark on his right wrist bone. He
says lie belongs to Jacob Pnitlk, of Irwin county, Qa.
The owner of said slave is requested to come for
ward and j>rove property, and take him away, or he will
be dealt with as the law directs in such cases.

October 26th, JOHN C. WHITE, alias White
Jackson. Jackson or White was brought from
Washington County and lodged in the Jail in
this city for safe keeping.
DESCRIPTION.
Said White or Jackson is about 17 or 18 years
old. light built, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high,
dark hair, hazel eyes, dark ey’e-brows which nearly
meet, voice rather fempnine. He had on when
he left a black frock coat, black pants, low crowned
Kossuth hat, in his conversation he uses very
profane language.
Said White was arrested, charged with steal
ing two Mules and a Negro. I will give the
above reward for his delivery to me in Milledge
ville.
Said White was formely from Habersham co.,
he says his mother is still living there.

PLAN OF TIIK LOTTERY.
The Numbers from I to 50,ff00, corresponding
with those Numbers on the Tickets printed on
separate slips of paper, are encircled with small
tin tubes and placed in one Wheel.
The first 462 Prizes, similarly printed and en
circled, are placed in another wheel.
The wheels are then revolved, and a number is
drawn from the wheel of Numbers, and at the same
time a Prize is drawn from the other wheel. The
Number and Prize drawn out are opened and ex
hibited to the audience, and registered by the Com
missioners ; the Prize being placed against the
Number drawn. This operation is repeated until
all the Prizes are drawn out.
Approximation Prizes.—The two preceding and
the two succeeding Numbers to those drawing the
first 7 Prizes will be entitled to the 28 Approxima
tion Prizes. For example: if Ticket No. 11250
draws the $60,000 Prize, those Tickets numbered
11248, 11249, 11251, 11252, will each be entitled
to $400. If Ticket No. 550 draws the $25,000 prize,
those tickets numbered 548, 549, 551, 552 w ill
each be entitled to $300, and so on according to
the above scheme.
The 5,000 Prizes of $20 will be determined hy
the last figure of the Number that draws the $60,-
000 Prize. For example, if the Number draw ing
the $60,000 Prize ends with No. 1, then all the
Tickets, where the number ends in 1, will be en
titled to $20. Tf the Number ends with No. 2,
then all the Tickets where the Number ends in 2
will be entitled to $20, and so on toft.
Certificates of Packages will be sold at the fol
lowing rates which is the risk:

In ordering tickets or certificates, enclose the
money to our address for the tickets ordered, on
receipt of which they will be forwarded by first
mail. Purchasers can have tickets ending in any
figure they may designate. The list of drawn
numbers and prizes will be sent to purchasers im
mediately after the drawing.

Remember that every prize is drawn and payable
in full without deduction. All prizes of $1,000
and under, paid immediately after the drawing—
other prizes at the usual time of thirty days.
