And the various affections consequent upon a disordered
Stomach or Isiver,
Such as Indigestion, Avidity of the Stomach, Colicky
Pains, Heartburn, Loss of Appetite, Despondency,
Costiveness, Blind and Bleeding Piles. In all Ner
vous, Rheumatic, and Neuralgic Affections, it has iu
numerous instances proved highly beneficial, aud in
others effected a decided cure.
This is a purely vegetable compound, prepared on
strictly scientific principles, after the manner of the cel
ebrated Holland Professor, Boerhave. Because of its
great success in most of the European States, its intro
duction into the United States was intended more es
pecially for those of our fatherland scattered here nnd
there over the face of this mighty country. Meeting
nag them, I now offer it to the
American public, knowing that its truly wonderful medi
cinal virtues must be acknowledged.
It is particularly recommended to those persons whose
constitutions may have been impaired by the continu
ous use of ardent spirits, or other forms of dissipation.
Generally instantaneous in effect, it finds its way direct
ly to tin- sent of life, thrilling and quickening every
nerve, raising up the drooping spirit, and, in fact, infus
ing new health and vigor in the system.
N< >TICE—Whoever expects to find this a beverage
will be disappointed; but to the sick, weak and low
spirited, it will prove a grateful aromatic cordial, pos
sessed of singular remedial properties*
CAITTI03T.
The great popularity of this delightful Aroma has in
duced many imitations, which the public should guard
against purchasing. Be not pnrsuaded to buy any

To Cotton Planters.
rflHE subscriber has thoroughly tried, at Macon
X and Columbus, Ga., his wrought-iron Cotton
Screw, where two of them are now standing and
will remain until October for inspection. I believe
it is the cheapest, by half, every offered for the
purpose of pressing cotton or hay, as the frame,
screwpin, and levers are all of wrought-iron.—It
should be attached to tlie gin-house, and have it
put up through the floor, as the ordinary press—the
levers being only live feet in length—to have the
width of the house and I" or 20 feet in length, the
lint could then be placed all around the screw.
Then a man can take five hands and pack as many
five-hundred pound bales in one day, with as little
labor to the hand, as the same five and two more,
with a horse, can on the wood-screw in the same
time. Three hands can put up one and take it
down, and it can lie carried at one load with four
mules to any point.
As this is for the public eye I will give the
amount of timber necessary for completing one:

GENERAL ADVERTISEMENTS.
A WONDERFUL. COINCIDENCE,
ALL NATIONS OF THE SAME MIND!
HOLLOWAY’S OINTMNET!
The anniversary of the introduction of Holloway’s
Ointment ought to be a Jubilee forever. It has saved
countless multitudes from disfigurement, paralyzation,
mutilation, agony and death. Starting from the surface
to which it is applied, its healing balm finis its way
through every coating and ligament <>f the body, to the
very source and basis of all eruptive, ulcerous, tumor
ous and cancerous diseases. It extinguishes the febrile
principle that feeds them, and the outward symptoms
lade, heal, and pass away with a rapidity incrediole to
those whn have not witnessed it.
Strofoloiis Enr>sions and Beers.
The poison of Scrofula has never been neutralized or
expelled by any of the remedies of the phnmiacopada.
Tlie sole antidote to this virulent and destructive ele
ment, is Holloway’s Ointment. Mnjendie & Brodie, the
great French and English surgeons, do not deny or dis.
pute this great fact. There is no form of scrofula that
may not becontroledand cured bv this balsomie remedy.
CANCERS AMD TUMORS.
The knife or caustic may remove a cancer or tumor,
but the seeds of the terrible excrescence remain in the
blood, and il Is soon reproduced in a worse form than
before. Holloway’s Ointment, on the contrary, pene
trates into the circulation, and pervades every infected
vesicle, and kills the disease by destroying the corrosive
principle that generated and sustains it.
INFLAMMA IVONS OF THE SKIN.
All rashes and onlinafy eruptions, as well as Erysip
elas, Acne, Ringworm, Carbuncles, Scald Head, Salt*
Kheuine. Leprosy, rrickly aeat, tfcc., are removed by
a few brisk applications of the Ointment.
ACCIDENTAL INJURIES,
Wounds, Sprains, Bruises, Scalds and Burns are im
mediately it lieved by its application. The inflamma
tion quickly subsides, fevers aud lockjaw are prevented
and under a persevering use of the preparation, the pro
cess of healing is soon accomplished.
Both the Ointment and Pills should he
used in the following cases:
Bunions, Mercurial eruptions, .Sores of all kinds
Burns, Rheumatism, -Sprains,
Chapped hands, Salt Rheum, Scalds,

Sherry Wine Tonic Bitters!!
This Etegant Stomach Bitters,
Composed Entirely or Roots and Hebbs, und
compounded with the best of Sherry Wine, requires
no panegyric to establish its frame. Its increasing de
mand for the past seven years throughout tlie United
States in private familes, and all the principal Hotels,
being a sufficient test ofits efficacy in restoring tlie tone
nnd nervous energy of the various organs contributing
to digestion. Possessing the valuable properties of nil
Alterative, Antispeptie and Aromatic Bitter, it gently
excites the secretions of tlie gastic juice, invigorates tlie
spirits, removes from the blood tlie germs of disease,
nnd increases the nervous energy of aU the vital powers.
Its effects during the rage of the cholera in 1849 were
most extraordinary. As a preventive and a cure it
proved alike reliable; nnd tlie testimony in favor is of tlie
most incontrovertible and emphatic character. It is
warmly recommended by the faculty, whose opinions of
its merits is corroborated by Tact which cannot be sha
ken or disputed. The proprietor does not offer them to
the public as a cure for every disease which flesh is heir
to; but simply and with tlie full assurance,
That it is the Best Preparation eier Offered
to the Public as a Purifier of the System.
But it is the condition of tlie stomach nnd t he system
generally—not tlie name of tlie disease—which must be
taken into consideration in using it, ns there is scarcely
a single complaint in which it cannot be advantageously
used. It is especially recommended to ladies of delicate
habit, ns an invaluable tonic and restorative to all tlie
exigencies peculiar to the weaker sex, and affords great
relief in cases when taken to relieve uneasiness after
meals. It is pleasant to the taste, efficacious in its design,
and no person, after gi ving it a fair trial, will ever be
without them as a preventive, and also a remedy for the
above complaints, so long as money can buy them.
Prepaid only by DR. LEWIS WHEELER, Drug
