‘* The lateattrocious and piraticai decree
of Bonaparte is a complete comment on
the writings ol Duane, for fome time pad,
particularly on those accursed pieces enti
tled “ Politics for Farmers.” The Ame
rican that would now presume to deny
that this man is an agent of the tyrant of
France, ought to be held up a: an objeft of
general lutpicion.-—The ftiiking co'inci
dence between this outrageous attack upon
the very vitals of ottr country, and the
poisonous doftrines of the Aurora in pre
paring the preponderating interest, (ihe a
griculturalills) of the United Slates, for
their fetvile reception, is too obvious to
escape the molt unthinking, it cannot
now be denied that there was a preconcert,
ed plan between Duane and his Gulic mas
tcis to prepare the public iftind ot this
country to swallow without a murmer.this
deleterous pill ; this direst flab at our high
est interest. II Congrels does not Ihow a
becoming spirit on this occafrcn, then in
deed have the execrable agents of Napoleon
but 100 lataily succeeded, in scattering the
fire brands ol diffemion and “luring us into
their fell (nates, lc would leem that the
Aurora torefaw, or rather was foretold of
these prelent alarming tucafures of the
Emperor of France againlt this country ;
a puto keep down our spirit, and lay pros
irate, our energies, he has for feme time

their brethren of the cities ; driving to
persuade them that their intereUs were dis
