J6th instant, under circumstances decidedly en
couraging. At the close of the first week, the
number of pupils in the institution amounted to sev
enty.

The course ot study is divided into three Depart
ments, and each Department into two classes.

The Trustees are determined to use every 1 ffort to
sustain a School equal to any in the State ; and they
believe that the system of instruction which they
have adopted will secure ti the pupil a thorough
and accomplished educntiou. The great object aim
ed at will be to give character to the young ladies,
and that kind of mental and moral discipline which
will fit them for usefulness in any sphere of life.
The pupils ot the Institution w ill be required to
attend public worship, on every Lord’9day, but the
instructions of parents and guardians respecting the
place of worship, shall be observed.
The next Term will commence on the third Mon
