Valdosta Theater tonight will be

Sheriff Passmore and wife return

occupying a cell In the county jail
as a result of a very Ingenious con
trivance which Mr. Norris Plnder,
of that firm, fixed for the purpose 1
of catching a thief who had J>eei

ing Mr. Plnder found a box ,qf to

it when the shades of night began
to gather.
To find out who would move this
box of tobacco was the problem
that confronted the man who was
watching the Interest of his' em
ployers. Being something of , geni
us he decided to attach a burglar
alarm to the box of t obneed; * so
that when It was moved a bell in
the office of the store would ring.
A wire like that which is attached
to the electric door bells, and a bat
tery, were brought into service, and
in a short while Mr. Plnder had a
contrivance there that would •
like a fire alarm when the weight
at the other end was removed. The
wire went up through the third sto
ry of the building and then to the
