Columbus, Ohio., May 4.—Mort
Langdon, the forfr^>r Secretary to
Governor Herrick, and a lobbyist for
the banking Interests, was the first
witness examined by the grand Jury
In the legislative boodle probe to
day.
Several newspaper men were also
on the stand.
Senators Hoffman, Ceton and An
derson and Representatives Nye and
Lowery, and Sergeant at Arms Dlo-
gte will be arraigned before Judge
Kinkhead tomorrow morning.
All will plead not guilty. More in
dictments are extended soon.

by Murder Which was Fol
lowed by Suicide.
Athene. Ga., May 4—More mys
tery developed last night In the case
of R. W. McKiuney, who shot hla
wife to death and killed hlmeelf Im
mediately afterwardo here Monday
n'ght. Austin McKinney of Ches
ter, near Spartanburg, S. C., tele
phoned Mayor Rowe last night that
R. W McKinney' ran away from
Spartanbi rg county six years ago
with the woman he killed this Week
and that she we, not and hue never
been his lawful wife, that his wife
and six children, alleged to have
been deserted by him In 1905 are
living now.
An hour later a Mre. McKinney
called the Mayor of Athens and aek-
ed if the McKinney couple had been
