Savannah, July 12.—The Greek
•ml Syrian colonies In Savannah are
almost at war over the marriage of
Mies Essie Rahal, a Syrian to Mr.

heard of the marriage, the ceremony

like him on general principles any
way. They abut the girl up and
treated her rather roughly, said
those who saw her in the house. Fin
ally the groom bethough himself of
a ruse to get the family out of the
house. He went before the magis
trate who had married him to his
sweetheart and swore out warrants
against her whole family for breach
of the peace.
While they were at the magistrates
offices arranging bonds he slipped
back to the house and stole his girl
wife away again. Now he has her
at hl a home and says he is going to
keep her. The girl’s father swears
that he will have her back again
and more trouble Is expected.
The girl contents herself by saying
she married George because she
loved him and that she is going to
stick to him no matter what hap
pens.
