Mr. H. M. Snead, of Quitman, was
a visitor to this city yesterday.
The teachers of Colquitt county,

among them was one thanking Pres
ident R. H. Powell, of the Georgia
Normal College for an able and con
vincing address before the teachers
last week.
A large number of carnival attrac
tions are reaching Valdosta these
days and will be part of the Barkoot

to leave here after the exhibitions
next week.
A movement is on foot to entertain
all of the drummers who make Val
dosta their headquarteTS at a sup
per one evening before long. The
object of the supper will he to get
together, meet each other and create
a little ’more enthusiasm for Val
dosta. There are plenty of drum
mers going out from Valdosta who
are ’.itrdly known to the people here,
an they do not get to town except on

Dr. W. M. Phillips has returned
from Jacksonville, where he has
been spending the past three or four
