\N ACT to provide for the call of a convention
to reduce the number of the General Assembly
of the state of Georgia, and for other purposes
therein named.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep
ose ntc.t ires of the state of Georgia in General As-
embly met, and it is hereby enacted by the author-
til of the same. That the first Monday in April,
ightcen hundred aud thirty three, he, and the
nine is hereby designated and set apart ns tlie
day on which the citizens of Georgia qualifi
ed to vote for the members of the Legislature,
shall, at the several places prescribed by law
or holding such elections vote for delegates to
represent them in in convention, in number equal
to their representation in both branches of the ge
neral Assembly ; such elections to be conducted,
managed and certified under the same laws as are
of forte in respect to elections of members of the
General Assembly.
See. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall
lie the duty of such managers to transmit <o li is
Excellency the Governor, the result ofsaid elec
tions under the laws now of force for conducting,
managing and certifying elections of members of
tho General Assembly as aforesaid, within thirty
days after such elections—Whereupon it is made
the duty of his Excellency tho Governor to issue
his proclamation declaring the result of said elec
tions by naming the individuals severally elected
to represent the good people of Georgia iu con
vention as contemplated in this act.
.See. 3. And be it further enacted. That every
citizen of the United Stales shall he eligible to a
seat in said convention who lias attained the age
of ttventy five years, and been an inhabitant of
tins state seven years immediately .preceding the
day of his election, aud who shall ha-, e resided one
year in the county foil which lie shall he elected.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted. That each
member returned as duly elected, shall previous
to taking his seat in said convention, take the fol-

aud one hundred perches per month, afterwards,

A suitable quantity for door and window sills,
and caps, cornerstones, &c. to be of such dimen
sions as the Superintendent may direct.

month, afterwards.

contract for the stone, to .any quautity not exceed

above, as delivered, reserving one fourth of the
amount, until the delivery is completed.
Bond and approved security will lie required
for all couiracts, aud the securities must be mini-

The quality of thy mnterals delivered must be
approved by the Superintendent, before any pay-
incuts will, be made.
Abundant quarries of the Stone, of the descrip
tion required, may he found on the Town Com
mon, within less than ouc mile of the Penitenti
ary, tvhich can be w orked free of charge.

tled to at least one representative in the represen
tative branch of the General Assembly.
Sec. 8. And be ii further enacted, That so
soon ns this act shall have bscome a law, his Ex
cellency the Governor, be, and is hereby required
to cause it *o be published in the Gazettes of this
state, once a week until the day fixed on by this
act for the election of delegates to said conven
tion ; and that all lasvs and parts of laws milita
ting against this act, be, and the same are hereby
