They arc all good and substantial vessels, and
well suited to the trade, aud their commanders
eareful and experienced meu. The facilities of
this line, when taken in connexion with the
increased, am! constantly increasing facilities of
Steam Boats, ami other conveyances, on the
waters of the Altamaha River, render the trans
portation of merchandise and produce between
Now York, Macon and Millegcvillc, and a lar^
portion of that section of Georgia lying west of
the Oconee River, cheaper and more speedily than
by any other route—and it is confidently expect
ed that the advantages afforded to tho public by
this Line of Packets, will ensure it a coutiugauce
of the support which it has heretofore received;
and justify the increased expense which the pro
prietors have been at, in adding to the Line the
lino neic Brier, Amelia Strong, now on her first
voyage.

The addition of this liue Boat cusures the
greatest despatch to Cotton shipped by this line,
by avoiding long detention at Darieu and re-
shipihent on Sloops which is liable to be very
tedious when the winds aro adverse.
The Steam Boat Pioneer, Capt. McCormick
will be continued on the river to tow up the freight
Barges from Darien.
The subscriber hopes that his arrangements to
facilitate transportation betweeu .Macon and the
Sea-Ports, will meet with encourageineut.

stitution, feel great pleasure in recommen
ding this school t» the favorable notice of the pub
lic. Haviug gone into operation iu January last
under the Rectorship of tiio Rev, Peter McIntyre,
its success has far exceeded our most safiguine
expectations. We therefore feel much assured
that those who will favor this risiug institution with
iheir patronage, will, generally be much pleased
with the result; that the coarse and method ofiu-
struction, will, in due time, ensure a thorough pre
paration for collegiate admission, as well as a rea
dy capacity for the various employments of life.
Rates of tuition not exceeding what is customary.
The regular quarterly entries tire outlie first Mon
day in January and July ; the last Monday in
March and September. Board, Washing, aud
Lodging can bo obtained in private families, pru
dent aud respectable; and at convenient distanc
es, front $15 to $20 per qr. The salubrity of
jho climate of the neighborhood is unquestiona
ble ; and its freedom ffoin inducements to dissi
pation, uo less favorable to the good morals of
youth and to their literary psoficiency.

Having leased this stand £pr several years,
with the intention of renewing the lease or of pur
chasing the property, we consider ourselves per
manently located, aud shall continue to improve
our accomodations as the comfort of customers
shall require.
