SUPER-PHOSPHATE OF LIME.

nia. Testimonials from hundreds who have used it
eleven years. Does not exhaust Iho Land like Gu

One hundred pounds of Nitrogenixed Snper-Phoa-
phate of Lime, will equal in effect and lusting pow
er, one hundred and eighty-five pounds Peruvian
Guano. Produces Heavier Bolls of Cotton, snd
greater weight of Wheat and other grain, per bush
el, than Peruvian Gnano. .Prevents Bust.
COTTON.
Coli'Wsis, S. (!., Sept. 90, 1859.
J. J. Maras,Esq.—Dear Sir:—I havo very great
pleasure in writingyou, touching the effects of your
Super-Phosphate of Lime on our Cotton crop. Hav
ing tested it against four other, preparations, I find
the appearance of the plant is most hopeful and
promising, as regards a large and remunerating
yield. 1 feol certain- your manure wi'l give from
one hundred, to one hundred and thirty pounds of
Cotton more than any other preparation per acre.
It it a remarkable faotthat no Rust is seen in the
plant where vour Manure has been used, while all
othi-ra show Bust more or less, and this is especial
ly the case where Gusno has been nsed.
And last, though not lesst, as regards the Planter’s
Interest, 1 feel certain that Cotton from Super-Phos
phate will Weigh Much Heavierthan from any eth
er preparation, in this particular. 1 believe Phos
pbates are destined to work the greatest possible
revolution In the Cotton-growing States of the South.
The plants look most vigorous and luxurious, some
being six feet high, and bolding from eighty to one
idred and ten Bolls, each stalk.

I Brandy, in bottles, both for medical aud privute
nse. The immense success that has crowned my
efforts to place a pure Gin within the reach of alt,
nnder the name of Aromatic Schiedam Schnapps,
and to drive out of the market the pernicious com
pounds sold as Gintbroughoutthe country, led many
leading druggists, apothecaries and medical men,
for some years past, to solicit mo to pursue the same
course in regard to the article of Brandy. 1 should
have complied with these requests from all quarters
long ago, but was deterred from it by the fact, that
owing to the exorbitant prices of Brandy in France,
consequent upon the shortness of the grape crop for
some years, there was no chance of my being able
to impert the choicest Brandy, bottle it snd sell it
at moderate prices. Fortunately tor me, tho grape
crop for the last and previous year (and the pros
pect for this,) was abundant, and prices of Brandy
nave fallen to the standard of ten years ago. The
duty on Brandy is also seventy per cent. lower, and
I have now made arrangements with four Brandy
exporters in France, of the highest repnte, and am
regularly receiving consignments of the b -t Cog
nac Brandy, which I am bottling and selling rs
Wolfe’s Genuine Cognac Brandy. I guarantee with
my seal, labels and certificates, the Brandy so bot
tled by me, as tbe pure, unadulterated article, and
it will be found, when used as a m 1 Heine, a bever
age, or a cordial, healthful and invi ^m ating. It has
been a matter of universal complaint, that a bottle
of pure, unmixed French Brandy, was very difficult
to obtain, and the purchaser, nine times in ten,- was
deceived with a vile manufactured imitation. Of
all descriptions of ardent spirits, Brandy, from its
high price, bas been the one article that tni vers and
sellers have turned their attention to, and millions
of gallons of the so called French Brandy have been
scattered annually through the land, and have been
the primary c use of murders, snicides, cruelties
aud crimes, and have sent thousands to an early
grave, seif-destroyera, from delirium tremens,
mania-a-potu and horrors, names unknown, until
unprincipled men began to make maddening com
pounds and sell it as the pare French Brandy.
The virtues of pure French Brandy need not b*
told by me. They are known throughout the world
as a medicine or mild stimulant. It is, asthe French
nation poetically call it, “Eau de la vie,” the water
of life. Bnt thia applies to it only when pare and
unadulterated. Manufactured with the fearful in
gredients that make a good imitation, it becomes a
death drink to innocent tens of SLousands of our
race. To remedy a fearful evil, I have commenced
importing Brandy, bottling it, and selling it as
“Wolfe's Genuine Cognac Brandy.” I am daily re
ceiving orders from the druggists and apothecaries
in all parts of the Union, to sell it for medical pur-
posea.
