WINNERS JOURNALS FREE WASHING TON TRIPS

.More Than Nine and a Half
Million Coupons and-Certif-

The verdicts of the auditors and
judges, Who passed upon the winners of
the 125 free Washington trips offered in
The Journal’s Inauguration Campaign
and the winners of the cash prizes, to
be awarded for the best work of the
last week of the campaign, are given
below.
Many days of hard and tedious work
on the part of the auditors were re
quired in checking the returns of the
various boys entered in the campaign.
They completed their task late Friday
evening and submitted their findings to
the committee ol judges-, who in turn
canvassed the work of the boys and ex
amined into the methods iemployed. by
the auditors. _
Signed certificates of both auditors
and judges are presented herewith. The
, announcement of winners is made by
them and without suggestion from The
Journal or any of its officials.
In determining the winners in this
campaign the auditors and judges, al
ways bearing in mind the rules govern
ing same, made a careful and pains
taking canvass of the certificates and
— roujTDhs turned in by each individual
competitor.
The magnitude of the task ‘ which
faced the auditors can be appreciated
. when it is known that 9,550,163 coupons
and certificates were voted and counted
„ in this campaign. These figures do not
include any of the coupons clipped
. from The Journal which were voted aft-

New Webb Law Hits “Blind Tigers”
and Illicit Dealers but Does Not In
terfere with Personal Liberty—
Straight Mail Order Business
Continued as Heretofore
Here are the exact facts on the Webb liquor
law just passed by Congress. These facts are
set forth to correct a great deal of misinforma
tion about the law.
The law was aimed at and hits solely the
“Blind Tigers” and illicit whiskey dealers-in
prohibition territory. Even the most ardent
supporters of the bill declare the law was not
drawn to prevent consumers from making pur
chases for personal use or medicinal purposes.
The law _ in no way affects the personal
liberty and rights of the consumer.
This law does not concern us. We do not
sell to “Blind Tigers”—and never will. We
sell only direct to the gentleman who cares to
have a bottle of whiskey in his house to meet
any emergency.
We take this method of setting our friends
and customers right and ask for a continuance
of your patronage.
Yours respectfully,
President.

The schedule of coupon allowances
was never changed from beginning to
end of the campaign. No bonus coupons
and certificates were allowed, and none
were given on nominations. Every boy
entered in the campaign had aji equal
opportunity for success.
Only the names of the winners are
published, although the auditors checked
the standing- of each boy.
Under the rules, the winners of the
Washington trips are prohibited from

TRAIN LEAVES MARCH 2.
Realizing that th e suffragette parade
on Monday, March 3d, will prove one of
the most spectacular features of the
inauguration festivities. The Journal
has decided to change the date originally
fixed for the departure of its special
train from Monday, March 3d, to Sun
day, March 2d, at 11 a. m. standard
time.
Another important reason for making
this change was the fact that so many
special trains will be running into
Washington on March 3d and 4th that,
there is a possibility of serious delays
being encountered by a train scheduled
to arrive in Washington March 4th, jn-
augura^on day.
The railroads will be so taxed to
handle the enormous traffic on that
^day that they were reluctant to guaran
tee the arrival of The Journal’s train
on scheduled time. The Journal is not
willing for its guests to miss any of
the inauguration festivities, hence the
change.
Only the members of The Journal’s
party will travel' on the six-car Pull
man train which this paper has char
tered. No tickets for this train will
be sold to outsiders. It will leave from
th© Terminal station promptly at 11
a. m., Sunday, March 2d, arriving in
Washington efirlv Monday morning. Re
turning this train will leave Washing
ton on Wednesday evening of March
5th and will arrive in Atlanta early
Thursday afternoon.
Special prizes of cash awards to the
boys who turned in the largest num
ber of paid in advance subscriptions
from Monday morning, January 27, at
8 o’clock, to Saturday,- midnight, Feb
ruary 1, are as follows:

25 CENT ‘INHERE" FOR FALLING HI,
ITCHY SCALP OR DANDRUFF—GROWS HI
Don’t pay 50 cents for worthless hair tonics-Use old, reli
able, harmless “Danderine”-Get results.
Thin, brittle, colorless and scraggy
hair is mute evidence of a neglected
scalp; of dandruff—that awful scurf.
There is nothing so destructive to
the hair as dandruff. It robs the hair
of its lustre, its* strength and its very
life; eventually producing a feverish
ness and itching of the scalp, which
if not remedied causes the hair roots
to shrink, loosen and die—then the
hairs falls out fast.
A little Danderine tonight—now—
anytime—will surely save your hair.
Get a 25-cent bottle of Knowlton’s
Danderine from any drug store or toiled
counter, and after the first applica
tion you will say it was the best in
vestment you ever made. Your hair
will immediately take on that life, lus
tre and luxuriance which is so beauti
ful. It will become wavy and fluffy
and hav^ the appearance of abundance;
an incomparable gloss and softness, but
what will please yoTt most will be. after
just a few weeks’ use, when you will
actually see a lot of fine downy hair—
new hair—growing all over the scalp.
