SIEVE It SHO Af.S.
Down an th 1 11,,
Last week w e taken our “better
half” and the children, and imide
quite a pleasant trip to the above
Malitia District, and was truly sur-
I risetl to see the thrift and energy
the farmers of that neighborhood I
evinced. XVe spent two nights under
the hospdable roes of our pld friend, ■
M. C. Fagans, and was never cared •
for in better styie m our lives. His |
I slimable lady and daughter know j
exactly what will suit an editor's ap
petite. Caleb, that’s M. C’s. son,'
had just purchased a brand new or
gan, and of course we had to “inter
viciv” it, and see what ‘‘was in ”
it.” It is silently whispered that '
Caleb is to take oue of Banks conn- ■
ty’s fair daughters to himself soon, '
but we can’t vouch for the assertion !
Nevertlmless, we ;lf let him speak
for himself. Our old friend, above ,
mentioned, is one of the modle far- .
mers of our county, //e goes in fop I <
hog and hominy, and plenty of it too. L
XVe tramped over a portion of his
i rnp. and was very muclj pleased at
his mode of farming. We think our 1
farming friends w ould do well to try '
his mode—to-wit: Blow deep and E
work bate. His entire family didall;
r u tbeir power t,y make our stay' (
! pleasant. We shall never forget
such kindness. We met several of
our friends and subscribers on our
trip, which space and, time forbid of
personal mention. The sleek law
is discussed freely in that portion of
the county. This is not our la-t trip,
to tlii* grand old drstijct. and \c .vid
always ryme.t that our stay vv,ts of
•>- .hurt a duration.
