with the rodents. They fought!
like blazes, but Mr. Fool cattfe out

killed any number of woundod
that escaped. t Pool turned

across a tan aefe field.
Fine Wheat.—Our friend, Mr.
Cicero Pool, of California Dist.,
has one pa'Ch of the fiuest wheat
that perhaps lefts ever come to
notice before at this season of the
year. The area consists of about
one acre, and the soil is that
peculiar to that section of Pauld
ing conftty, a deep mulatto or
Walnut colored soil. The only
fertilizers used is stable manure,
tlie stand is very good, and nt
this early season is begiuniug to
head. Die height is about the
waist of a tall man uniformly
all over it. The wheat is oily
black iu appearance, impenetra
bly thick, heading out well, and
will certainly, as estimated by
many, yield not less than fifty
bushels, Mr. Pool ootained the
seed from Missouri, and it is of
the red variety.
The delegates of the several
Sunday schools in Paulding
county met at tlie Baptist church
on last Saturday for the purpose
of organ izing a County Sunday
School association. After orga

important work. The officers were
as follows:

that there was two meu lying

Before closing I will hint at
some of the advantages of out'
section. The Nineteenth, situa
ted as she is between two rail
roads, just in hearing of the
whistles of both, and out of the
way of tramps, with good water
mid steam mills sufficient to sup
ply all demands, with good aver
age—and some above average
lands of our country anywhere, 1
see no reason why she should
not move ou'Vard ult'.il she ranks
as first-cl Rite in all that it takes
to build up a community.
A few more words and X will
quit. The Nineteenth is plagued
witfi more rats than ever was
known before. Uncle Audrew Mi*
Brayer says he wonld not mind
making corn if it was nut for them
When the boys laugh at him for
the plague that is sent on hi in in
his old days ho turns the joke by
saying Unit it is a mighty good
sign there is plenty made there to
feed them on. They go rat kill
ing down there occasionally aud
kill great piles of them, some of
which if seen up a tree by squirrel
hunters mould be shot at for
squirrels.
If this proves sufficiently newsy
to merit publication you will
probably at au early day hear
again from tho
Nineteenth,
