friend, Mr. J. T. Vaughn, is going to open up

Mr. Vaughn is one of our most popular and
enterprising young men, and deserves the
patronage of the people of that vicinity. He
has had considerable experience iu the mer
cantile business, and if any one can make
a success ol such an enterprise, he is that
one. He will carry a full line of family gro
ceries, tobacco, cigars, patent and proprieta
ry medicines, etc. While we regret very
much to lose Mr. Vanghn as a citizen of our
town, we are glad to state -that he wilt re
main a citizen of the county, aud hope that
ho will soon build up a paying business.

no means dangerous, are very painful. It
was indeed a narrow esi ape for the ehild, as
• he ball which entered Mr. Bullock's wrist
was compelled to pass in very close range of
the child, and, if it had stiuck it, no doubt
would have produced death.
