On last Saturday evening a very
largo crowd of children accompan

grown people, attended the egg hunt
at the residence of Dr. S. Robert
son’s. All the Easter hens in town
had congregated about the prem
ises, and made nests in every con
ceivable corner, and crevice, laying
e^gs of most prodigious size, and
most variegated tints. It was
really dinu ling to see old and young

the glorious hunt. All express

Dear Nkw Era:—
Although there liavo been many
conjectures os to my identity, an 1
many tin eats in consequence of ray
disclosures, I am still here, and
here to stay.
My heart goes out in sympathy
to that Dallas young man, who 1ms
been settled u|>on, by bis friends,m
the owner of this box. I also sym
patlnzo with those poor deluded
wiseacres, who think that they have
me spotted. No one tins droamei
of me as Pandora, and I shall evei
remain a profound mystery.
On opening my box recently, I
heard something drop, and fanciet
I saw a red glare under mv feet.
Upon a dose examination with n
microscope, 1 found it to ho a num
ber of small fellows, who were crit.
icisiug Pandora and the contents
of her box. The red glare wi e
explained too. It wns the blusher
that once diffused their counte
nances,when the supposed Punt’o n
caine upon them, and heard them
criticising her.
The'next tiling I saw was a sick
boy. I thought he had been eat
ing Easter eggs But says he:
‘‘No, by George, don't in-Trude on
me that way, a Speer has struck
me.
I see another boy .leisurely smok
ing a cigarette, and witli feigned
abandon, inquiring after the mean
ing of kneo-pantsdom.
I see another fellow, sitting on a
stump near his father’s home, and
gazing Farr away toward the South.
It is the hour of midnight, and he
is doubtless thinking of thc-pigeons
Noxt, I see a young lady sitting
on a chunk of Burnt hickory, near
a very green Arch, and a bunch of
flowers, that Emits tho sweetest
fragrance.
Next, I see an old bachelor, in
quiring as to the best mustache
dye.
Next, I see an old maid, who
8 ays, “If I were to paint my face, 1
would first have to fill up the
wrinkles with putty.
Next, I see an old widower, that
would make love to anything, from
a rag doll to a gossamer cloak.
Next, I see a young mar., who
wants to know how to “pop the
question.” Says he: ‘tl have been
right up to that point for six months,
but every time my heart fuift me.
Pandora can only say, don’t go
sneaking aroi n 1 on your knees to
her, for it is injurious to trousers,
and, besides, she is not an ungel.
I see another fellow wishing for
the Commencement' of suninier, so
that he may find somebody, that
is of a coa-Geni-al spirit.
I see next, a young lady, who
thinks that Robbins are the pretti
est birds in the worl I.
Next, Pandora sees a number of
fellows witli the dry grins, who
would like to reply to her, but are
afraid the box would close in on
them.and have them C joper-ed up.
She sees a lawyer, who ia as b,id
ly fooled in her box, as be
ever was in a jury-box.
She see a, too, a young M. l).,nko
