T O limit the amonnt of the Poll Tax
to be imposed on, and collected from
any freo white citizen of Snvannah and
Hamlets theropr.
Whereas the General Assembly of the
State ofGoorgin at the last Annual Sleet
log thereof enacted tlpit tho,amount of the
poll tax for tlie said City and Hamlets
should not exceed one dollar.
Be it therefore Orilnined, by the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Savannah and
Hamlet) thereof, in Connell A?eemhled.
That the. amount of Poll Tax for 1820 nod
annually thereafter on any froe .white In
habitant of said city ami hamlets aforesaid
shall not’ exceed one dollar exclusive of
costs provided return} are made as pre
