Be it therefore Ordained, by the Mayor
and Aldermen ofthe City of Savannah and
Hlmlets thereof, in Council Assembled,
Thatjhe amount of Poll Tax for 1820 and
annually thereafter on any free ,shite in
habitant of said city and hamlets aforesaid
shall not exceed ono dollar exclusive of
costs provided returns are mado as pre
scribed by Ordinance. . .

ty aforesaid. That all ordinances or parts
thereof, imposing a higher anfount of Poll
Tax be ami the same are hereby tepealed.
