T O limit the amount of tlie Poll Tax
to be imposed on, anil collected from
any free white citizen of Savannah and
iiiimicts theroof.
Whereas the General Assembly of the
State of Georgia at tile last Annual Meet
ing thereof enacted that the amount of the
poll tas for tlie said City arid Hamlets
should not exceed one dollar.
Be it therefore Ordained, by the . Mayor
and Aldermen ofthe City of Savannah and
Hamlets thereof, in Council Assembled.
Thai the amount of Poll Tax for 1889 and
annually thereafter On any free wiilio in
habitant of said city and hamlets aforesaid
shall not excepd one dollar exclusive of
coSK- provided returns are made as pre
scribed by Urdilianco. .
§ 3. He it further Ordianetl by the autliori
ly aforesaid, That all ordinances or parts
-thereof, iinposiug a higher amount of Poll
Tax be and the same are hereby repealed.
