Article V. 1 —Tile principalities of Mol
davie ami IVallechin having, by a da-
pitdlalion, placed themselves under the
suzrraiuete of tlm Sublime Pone, and
Russia having guaranteed their prosperity,
i- is understood Ihat they shall preserve all
thcjprivilegcs and immunities grantedlo
them in virtue oftheir'capitularion, wheth
er iiy the treaties concinded bet week the

they shall enjoy the free exercise of tliirir

Moldavia, with all the boundaries which it

Varna, Pravody, and other towns, burghs,
mid villages which it contains, the whole
extent of the Balkan,from Emino Botirnnn
ns far as|Kazani &all the country from Ihe
Balkans as far as the sea, with Sillminea,
Joiiibpti, Aidos, Karnufut, Missanovlca,
Bourgas, Sizopolis, Kirkkilissi, the city
* uf Adrianoplc, Lule Bourgas, and all tha
towns, burghs, and villages, and ill general
all places which the Russian troops have
escupicd in Roumeliar

Article VIL—Russian subjects shall Cn
joy, throughout,the .whole extent of the
Ottoman empire,as Wall by land as hy-sea,
the full and entire liberty of commerce se

or commerce shall he Cointiiilled, neither
shell it be permlitod to be checked; in any
case or under any pretence, hy a prohibl
lion or any restriction whatevei, nor in con
sequence of any regulation or measure,

tion or one of internal legislation. Rus
sian subjects, vessels and merchandise,shall
be secure against nil .violence ana all chi

exclusive jurisdiction and police of the
Ministers and Consuls of Russia. The

Artlite VIII.—Tiro ntfngofneiili fnr-

Convention 6f Akerm.in, for 'the purpose
uf regulating and liquidating fire claims of
the respective subjects nml mbrclratlti of
both empires, relating tn the indemnity 'for
losses experienced at diff.ocntperiodssinco
lire war of 1808, not having been yet car
ried into effect, and the Russian commerce
having sinoe the conclusion of tlie'tiTeresnirl
c invention suffered new nnd considerable
injury in conseqoenca of tho measures
dopted respecting the navigation of the
Bosphorus, it is agreed nnd determined that
the Sublime Tone, us a reparation for that
injury and those la-ses, shell pay to the Im
perial Court of It ussid, in the coarse qf 18
months, at periods which shall be soTttqjt
hereafter, tire suin el line million five hun
dred thousand dubats of Holland; so that
the payment of this sum shell put on end to
all claim or reciprocal pretonsions On Ihe
part of the iwo contracting power's on the
subject ofthe aforesaid circumstances.
Article IX.—Tho prolongation of tho
war, to which tho present treaty of peace
happily puts an end, havingfoccnsinned to
tha Imperial Court of Russia considerable
expenses, the Sublime Porie recognises Ihe
necessity of offering it an adequate indem
nity. For this purpose, independently of
the cession uf e.smsdf portion of territory in
Asia, stipulated by the fourth article,w hich
th* Court of Russia consents to receive on
account of the said indemnity, the Buhlime
Porte engages to pay to the said Court a
sum of money, the amount of which shall
he regulated by motual accord.
Article X.t—'The Sublime Porte, whilst
declaring its entire adlieteance to the stipu
le mon of the treaty concluded in Lnndon
on the 24th of June, (ttioOth of July) 1827,
l.etwreen Russia, Great Britain and France
accedes equally to the act drawn np on the
lofli of March < (22d) 18*9,by mutual con
sent, between these same power*; on the
basis of tire laid treaty, aVid containing the
arrangement of detail relative to its defin
ite execution. Immediately after ilia cx-
changoofthe ratification of the present
treaty of peace, t|io Sublime Poito shall
appoint Plenipotentiaries to settlo with
those ofllio Imperial Court of Russia, and
of the Courts of England and France, the
execution ofthe tairl stipulations aud ar
rangement*.
Article XI—Immediately after tire sig
nature ef the present treaty of pcadO be

measures for the prompt and sc'rnpiilous
