GA WATERS.
fin HERE is perhaps scarcely an indi-
vitlual in the United Slates, who is
not acquainted, eiilier hy experience or
report, with ihe sa alary, effect* of the
Congress Spring Water, at Saratoga
From thirty to filtv thousand .porsons an
nually visit these Springs, many fvnm the
remotesi seetinns of the United Stales, am!
some front the West Indies, and other• for
eign planes. The great expense in visiting
the Springs excludes live greater portion of
theeqSiinUnitv, (more thaq nine nut of
toil,) and the iiorilerl water, from its high
prioo, prevents its use to the extent of be- '-ember, eiglrteen

mermnnlhs. l^rom these eircnmstaricos,
Geo. AV. Carpenter is pleased to announce
ihe preparation of the above powders, con
taining all the essential substances with
which those celebrated Springs are impreg
nated, and fiom which the waters of the
Congress Springs nt Saratoga am precise
ly and effectually imitated. With n view
lo scroll!module the public, and to bring,
into general use so convenient und valua
ble n substitute for these waters, he has
honn induced to go very extensively into
tlie itnmufectiirp of i.hent, to jmt them nt a
price to lio within Ihe rencli of ropst per
sons. For tlio necdiriniqqation ortho poli
tic, ageius will ho appoinied ill - nil the pi-
lies arid principal inland towns to give n
general circulation to so useful im articlo
throughout the conntry. The public are
recommended to make trial of tliBsc pow
ders, as be finds by experience, mid from
the opinion of the most, eminent of the fa
culty, tliatiho water made from tb.em pos
sesses the same medicinal qualities, sis as
cfi'eclual in ils operations, and precise in
taste, as that taken immediately from the
Springs. These powders are therefore re
commended as a vulnnbl ■ remedy in all
cases where Ihe Saratoga Waters are pre
scribed. _ -
Persons on soa voyages, nr residing at a
distance from the springs, and in warm
climates, will ot once perceive the gieat
advantage of making use of these powders
which besides being more portable and
less expensive than the bottled water, will
keep without injury for any length ol'timo
as tlioy uro equal in medical effect to tlint
taken fresh from the springs, tlicv are cep
tainly much preferable from the many ad
vantages iliey possess.
03= Those powders ore superior to the
rieidlitz, inasmuch at they me equally a
periapt and nufififlable, at lli.e same time
possessing tonimtHd chalybeate qualities in
a superior degree, and arc consequently
