congress sprit so on Sarato
ga HATERS.
T HERE is perhaps scarcely an indi
vidual in tlie United Slates, who is
not acquainted, eiihci by experience or
report, with the snhitnry effects of tho
Congress' Spring Waters at Saratoga
Front thirty to fifty thousand persons an
nually visit these Springs, Irmny from the
remotest sections of the United States, mid
sonio from tin* West Indies, and other for
ei^n places. The cre-it expense in visiting
the Springs excludes the greater portion of
the community, (more than nino ' out ol
ten,) alid the bottled water, from its’high
price, prevents its use to the 'extent of be
ing survieodble, and confines it to a sihall
ninnher; it appears to he a serious evil
.(lint so valuable an article should he so res
tricted, that compatalively fnw should he
able to enjoy what Is so conducive to gen
eral hcaltli in the hot weather of our sum
mer months. From the.se circumstances.
Geo. W. Carpenter is pleased to announce
the preparation of the above powders, con
taining all the essontial suhstancos with
which these celebrated Sptingsare impreg
nated, and fioin which the waters of the
Congress Springs at Saratoga me precise
ly uml effectually imitated. With a. jetew
to accommodate the public, uml to lniriji
into general use so convenient and valua
ble a substitute for jhpse waters, lie lias
been induced to go very extensively into
the manufacture of them,, to put them at a
price to he within the reach of most per
sons. For the accmumodafton of the pub
lic, agents will be appointed in all the ci
ties and principal inland idwfis to-give a
general circulation to soAiseful* nn article
lli.roiigliout the country. The public* are
recommended to mnko trial of these pow
ders, as he finds by'experience, nnd front
the opinion of the most erninent qt-Rie fa
culty, that tho water made from tljbtii; pos
sesses tho same medicinal qualities, Is ns
cficctual in its operations, and precise in
astir, as that taken immediately from the
Springs. These powders are therefore re
commended us a vuluahl» iemedy in oil
cases where the Saratoga Waters are pre
scribed.
Persons on sea voyages, or residing at a
distance from the springs, and in waiin
climates, will nt once porceivo the gtoat
advantage of making use of these powders,
which besides being move portable, and
less expensive than tlie bottled water, will
keep w ithout injury for any length of time,
"us they are equal in meclicnl eficct to that
taken fresh from tlxt> springs, thev are cer
tainly much preferable from the many ad
vantages they possess. *'
These powders are superior to the
Seirllitz, inasmuch as they are equally a-
poiient and' agreeable, at .the same tinte
possessing tonic and cliaJyliqato qualities in
a superior degree, and are consequently
better adapted to weak and debilitated
constitutions than any other cathartic in
use. ,
Printed directions will accompany the
powders. , , , „
