Of course,'they expected great things of our white sale. Our past record fully warranted the ladies of
Albany and South Georgia to expect much. They knew that our showing would De complete and correct,
from the simplest and most inexpensive edging to the most elaborate and costly embroidered robe. That they
have not been disappointed is evidenced by the unprecedented buying which has characterized the opening days
of the sale. •
'Genuine outbursts of enthusiastic appreciation have been called forth by the gorgeous displays of the
many new and exquisite designs—the season’s most popular importations from the Gis-Atlantic centers. The
beautiful matched sets—all-overs, edgings insertings, flouncings, corset cover embroideries in mull, Swiss,
nainsook and cambric; the popular medalion effects, the novelties in drawn work, and the exquisitely beautiful
“Baby Irish” have all found eager purchasers to the extent of hundreds and hundreds of yards.
And these dainty undermuslins! How heartily have they been admired add how generously have they
been bought! So many of these charming, garments have the wonderful beauty and grace of the French de
signs, stamping them as faithful copies of the imported models. AH the style, all the loveliness, all the ele
gance of workmanship and material is there, only the excessive price of the real French garment is missing.
The few specials mentioned here have been taken at random from the different lines to give anridea of
the exceptional values offered in Linens, White Goods, Embroideries and Undermuslins.

Atlanta, Ga., Jan. 19.—A wedding
in a Masonic lodge room was an Inci
dent which served to enliven the
otherwise prosaic meeting o( East
Point Masons the other evening.
While the Masons were conferring
degrees, a timid knock was heard at
the door. It was not In accordance
with tho Masonic signal, and an In
vestigation was Immediately started
hy the'tyler. A young man, very
much out of breath, stood In front of
the door. He said his name was Jphn
Frank Kennedy. He also said -his
fiance, Miss Clara Chtldres, and
her father were waiting at the home
of Rev. B. H. Phillips. The minister
was wanted to perform tho marriage
ceremony. Was ho In?
The minister was In, and was tak
ing an active part In the degree work,
The Masons held a hurried consulta
tion and decided to Invito the young
man to have the ceremony performed
In the lodge room. To this the swain
agreed, and hurried off to the parson’s
house to get his girl and her father.
The trio soon appeared and the wed
ding took place ns scheduled. The
