All High Class Novelties
in Spring Dress Goods.
The woman who waits until spring to
begin the making of her spring clothes
certainly must not realize that in our com
plete showing of new wash goods is in
cluded practically every popular novelty
and desirable staple weave of the season.
When we announced our first display of
wash goods, we styled it “comprehensive,”
because it was so wonderfully complete.
Practically all the high class new spring
weaves are displayed now in most
pleasing variety that strongly cries for early
buying. There has been unusual demand
on the manufacturers this season, so that
it will be impossible for us to “fill in the
gaps” when the now perfect assortment
is broken.
Among the most popular spring wash
goods that we are offering now are" Silk
Zephyr Ginghams, Batistes in linen finish,
Dinettes, Silk Eoliennes, Soisettes, Percales,
French Cambrics, Madras, etc.

An At Home at Leesburg, Ga.
Leesburg, Ga., Feb. 16.—One of the

J. Bennet Tyler on Thursday evening,
February 15. from 8 to 12, Mrs. J.
Bennett Tyler and Mrs. J. P. Callaway
being the hostesses, who entertained
In honor of their guests, Miss Logan,
of Macon, the attractive niece of Mr.
and Mrs. J. P. Callaway, and Miss
Piver, of A8hburn, who Is vlEltlng Mrs.
Tyler. Both young ladles were be
comingly gowned In evening costumes
and were very much admired by the
large number of guests present. The
color uchome was red and green. The
decorations, beautiful In every detail,
were In hearts, emblematic of St. Val
entine’s Day. Refreshments were
served In the spacious dining hall and
were dainty and delicious. Mr. Ty
ler’s beautiful home deserves special
mention, as it Is one of the old-fash
ioned but new Southern homes — a
house built with spacious halls, fold
ing doors and open fireplaces—truly
a die, irful abode. Anyone so fortun
ate ns to once visit there will hope to
return, because of the delightful home
nnd the generous hospitality of the
host and hostess. Atlanta, Albany,
Dawson and Macon were represented
and all felt glad to he there.
Beautiful Walk.
The tile block walk which has just
been laid from the sidewalk to the
front steps at the home of Mr. J. B.
Gilbert is one of the prettiest walks in
the city. It was laid by the Albany
Pressed Stone Co. The blocks are
hexagon lii shape, excellently made
and perfectly laid. Five gray and
black geometric designs greatly add
to the attractiveness of the paving.

Nuptials of Miss Ethel
Petty and Mr. B. L. Mc-
Caskill Were Solemn
ized Last Night.
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. K.
Morris last night, Miss Ethel Petty
and Mr. Bernard L. McCaskill were
joined In marriage by Rev. Charels T
Wright, rector of St. Paul’s church.
The wedding was informal, and the
ceremony was as simple as It was
pretty. Mr. Morris marched to the
foot of the stairs with the bride, gave
her to the bridegroom, then bride and
groom marched to the altar and were
joined in the holy bonds of wedlock,
Only members of the Immediate
families were present at the ceremony.
The home of Mr. Morris was beautF'
fully decorated with vines, lilacs nnd
! narcissi. At the conclusion of the
| cerembny, a delightful dinner was
served.
The ceremony was performed at
7 o’clock, and ,at 9 o’clock the newly
married couple left for their home in
Americus.
The marriage of Miss Petty and Mr.
McCaskill was a social event of no
little importance. Since the first sur
mise of the engagement, much Inter
est had been centered in the final cul
mination of their beautiful romance.
' The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
N. L. Petty, of Lynchburg, Vir
ginia. She came to Albany about five
months ago for a visit with Mrs. Mor
ris. In that time, she endeared her
self to hundreds of Albanians, who
wish her a most happy wedded life.
The bride, besides being’ a lady of
unusually attractive appearance, has a
sweet disposition and a charming
manner, which Invariably win and
hold the highest esteem of her ac
quaintances.
Mr. Bernard L. McCaskill was uatil
recently a resident of this city, and
his business ability and strength of
character are well known here. He
is a young man, with the promise of
a most successful future before him,
and his many friends feel assured that
the promise will be realized.
May the happy and popular couple
attain the best of everything, which is
! no more than they deserve, Is the ar
dent wish of all who know them.
