It Is reported that the grand jury
will take cognizance of reported viola
tions of the state game law. Superior
court convenes Monday morning, and

A veterinary surgeon and a young
fellow about 15 years of age engaged
in conversation at the Albany depot
few days ago. The veterinary told
the young man about an operation he
had perforpied on a mule,, which mule
had died despite the best medical and
surgical attention. The boy was an
Interested listener, and the veterinary
surgeon explained all about the oper
ation. When through, the boy looked
up and inquired of the surgeon wheth
er the mule regained consciousness
before dying. The veterinary didn’t
even know if the mule had said his
prayers. '

The construction of a park In Al
bany will give the city probably one
more good and popular driveway. Al
bany has several good ones now, the
one to Blue Spring being exceptional
ly line. The drive to Palmyra Falls
Is about as good as can be found any
where. The thing about it Is that the
people of Albany, so accustomed to
them, . hardly appreciate them, No
more do they appreciate the beauty
of Blue Spring and Palmyra Falls.
